Arsenal's bidding and signing plans this summer - Player lists
The World Cup has given new insight over the rankings of players and led to new prospects. The ultimate tournament demanded the best from the best and with that done it has complied new results for them. The pre and post market values of players after the tournament have witnessed a great difference. While the ratings of some have gone down low, others have risen up the ranks.
With the timings ripe for new signings in the clubs, this will heavily affect the players. A popular example here can be given of the world class Spanish striker Fernando Torres. The ace was expected to cash out at 70 million pounds by Barcelona, Chelsea or Manchester City before the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
However the tables have turned around without a warning for him. The man who scored the winner for Spain in the European Championship was no Samaritan in South Africa as not only his poor form relegated him to the second line up but he later injured his thigh and now rumours are rife about his consistent injuries have left clubs giving with no more than 40 million pounds.
It is said that the Arsenal Coach Arsene Wenger has been handed a prize of 30 million pounds to 50 million pounds, all that he can spend at his will to rebuild and remake his squad so that he can elevate himself from the 3rd position in the Premier League to the 1st.
Time has passed since Arsenal proved itself as a major competitor in the market of world class players as the traditional Arsene Wenger still breeds players; with the strategy of taking them in when they are young and developing them into a legend. There was speculation that the Arsenal team was not spending as much they should have because they were building up their lustrous Emirates Stadium but now that it has been constructed it is expected that they are going to cash out their funds and become more of a dominating power than before.
Here are some possible predictions of players that will be pledging their allegiance to the Gunners:
Joe Cole is a free agent now and has been a man on the hit list for many clubs but now that he is out no one but Arsenal seem interested in him. His qualities are his charisma and his control over the ball as when he has the ball under his feet, the team as a whole seems to progress forward and the possession increases. Also he has great insight in the game. He has been known to make marvellous moves and attack from the flanks while meticulously passing in a deceiving manner.
For long Arsenal have been in demand of a good keeper, Manuel Almunia is just not good enough anymore and the name Joe Hart is coming up as a real possibility to replace him. The fact that Hart is on the substitute list ahead of Shay Given for Manchester City further improves the chances of the transfer.
Yoann Gourcuff is another possible candidate to wear the red and white of Arsenal. At the World Cup though he was not the man who defeated the sharks but he certainly made his presence known. Arsenal have accepted that they are interested in the player and what remains know is just a bid.
On the other hand there are players that will be departing from North Londoners too and here is a list of them:
Cesc Fabregas of course will be on top of the list but with time running out and Arsenal and Barcelona not moving on their stance about the player it seems that Arsenal might have the advantage and the prodigal Spanish midfielder will spend another year with Arsenal. Rumours about Fabregas leaving Arsenal had started long ago with he himself wanting to return to his former club Barcelona and as expected, Barcelona were desperate for the reunion. However now it seems that the reunion has been postponed till next season.
Gael Clichy is another name that is on the look by the Catalans. The Spanish giants sparked interest in the player around the same time as Fabregas and have told that they are willing to pay a handsome amount for the player too but with the relations between the two clubs tightening there is less and less chance of the transfer turning into reality.
The Mexican player Carlos Vela though was acquired by Arsenal after a tough competition but much has not been seen by him in the whole season and that maybe because Vela has not really made his place.
