The 2010 – 2011 season, can in simple terms be summed up as the season that Jack Wilshere was finally exposed to the world. The nineteen year old at this point last season, was a mere nobody, however, that is no longer the case.
Wilshere, who got his opportunity to make his breakthrough for the Gunners by pure luck, seized the opportunity and immediately made a name for himself in the starting eleven at the club.
The midfielder, despite being a teenager, went on to display performances that players couldn’t give being three, four years into their professional career. The midfielder, possesses the ability to play in a host of positions, which have made him an even
bigger threat than he already is.
Wilshere can play as a holding midfielder, a central midfielder and even as an attacking more creative player. He has the ability to use his body to his advantage and it sometimes becomes close to impossible for opponents to win the ball off the player.
His left foot has been described to be like a paint brush and the pitch his canvas, by Manchester United defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rio-Ferdinand-c31173 and that just goes to show how good the player really is.
The midfielders stand out performance, can once again be traced back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s showdown with Barcelona at the Emirates in the UEFA Champions League. Being the most inexperienced player on the pitch, the defender went in looking to make a name for himself
and by controlling the midfield and dominating the likes of Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta, the player went on to secure the man of the match award in the game, despite http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 also being on display on the night.
However, the player’s brilliance did not go unnoticed by the English national team manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 squad and stated that his age and size shouldn’t deceive his opponents, since he
is one of the most lethal players in the world at the moment.
This past season saw Wilshere pick up two goals and nine assists along the way, which by all means are rather impressive for the midfielder, considering his age.
However, being awarded man of the match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and being called up into the senior English squad were not all of the awards that the youngster received this past season.
The player was named as part of the Players Football Association Team of the Year, which be all means is a massive achievement for a nineteen year old, irrelevant of what way you look at it.
All that can be said about Wilshere, is that he can just get better from here on and just the thought of that, makes us wonder how good the player will eventually become.
