Arsene Wenger sees crunch time as good opportunity for Gunners
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was confident ahead of the crucial Christmas and New Year’s period, the time of the season where the title winner is usually decided. Arsenal will welcome Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on the Boxing Day in a top of the table
fixture, which will see the winner secure a place at the third place in the English Premier League table and guarantee involvement in the title race.
Wenger was confident that his young side could make use of this tough time to show their improvement. The French manager maintained belief in his side, who he feels are capable of winning the Premier League crown. The title race is indeed very tight this
season, and one slip up by any of the top four will give others the advantage.
However, the Arsenal manager did not want to label the upcoming game as a title decider. He admitted the fixture was an important one, but did not feel that the title race would be decided so early on in the season. Manchester United are at the top of the
table, with Manchester City at second place and London sides Arsenal and Chelsea not far behind.
Arsene Wenger said while speaking to reporters, “We have a good opportunity to show in the coming months that our improvement is bigger than any other team. We are a very young side and it's about how well we respond to what happened to us at Chelsea and
Manchester United. That will be the decider for our season.”
He added, “Of course we have mixed feelings because we came out of both games against Chelsea and Manchester United thinking that it was possible and that there was not a difference between the teams. But the statistics are history and every game is a new
start. Every guy before he wins, he has lost and one day he wins. We have to make sure for us that day is on Monday.”
Wenger was determined to have a good result at Emirates Stadium against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and the other teams they would take on at home. He was confident that good form at home could be the key to winning the league this season. “We are in a strong position now in
December and we know our home form against the big teams will be the decider for the championship. It's too tight at the top of the table. But it is an important period, that's for sure.”
