Arsene Wenger admits http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 can’t drop any more points – Premier League Update
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to admit that his side can’t afford to drop any more points over the course of the coming weeks, if they are to stand any chance of pushing towards the top of the Premier League table.
The manager made these comments following his side’s game against Fulham. Arsenal went on to draw their game against the Cottagers.
Arsenal started the game off with a bang, but failed to really get their foot on the accelerator, as they let their opponents get back into the match. As a result, they were forced to trail the match thanks to an own goal scored by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002.
However, the Belgian international then went on to make amends, as he headed in another goal into the other end of the pitch.
The draw saw Arsenal end their five game winning streak, but it still maintains the teams streak of not losing a game for the last ten games that they have played.
However, Wenger is not being too optimistic at the moment, as he wants his side to get the maximum number of points from their upcoming games.
The manager when talking to the press is quoted to have said: “At the moment we need to come back to a stronger position [in the table]”
“I believe we have recovered but we have come from a position where we cannot afford to drop points.
“We came from so deep that every two points [dropped] becomes not very mathematically good for us.
“Overall I must say that the spirit in the squad is so good that I'm confident we'll improve even more.
“The spirit was exceptional [against Fulham] - you could see that when we were 1-0 down the team responded by giving absolutely everything to come back.”
Arsenal will now be taking on Manchester City in the league cup and would be looking to assert their dominance in the game. Should the North London club go on and come out on top in the game, then it would be certain that the team is back to its best. However,
should it fail to do so, then the team would need to make some changes to the squad in January, as the manager looks to tweak his side and make them the best possible team that he can.
Once that is done, Arsenal are bound to win a trophy or two in the near future and put an end to their trophy drought.
