Arsene Wenger admits he never saw Robin Van Persie as Arsenal captain
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 has become captain for the Dutch national team and for the Gunners.
In the past, the striker almost always had his temperament brought into question, due to the fact that he used to get into a number of small tussles on the pitch. However, many felt that players with the quality that Van Persie possesses, almost always have some sort of a drawback.
Nonetheless, following his appointment as captain of the Gunners, the striker has gone on to score nineteen goals in twenty one appearances for the team. This just goes to show that the player was waiting to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading the team, before he got his mentality set straight.
When talking about Van Persie and his rise to becoming Gunners captain, Wenger is quoted to have said: "For me Robin is a great leader"

"If you had asked me seven or eight years ago I would not have predicted that he would become captain of Arsenal Football Club.

"That's credit to him. His evolution has been outstanding, not only as a human being but as a player too."
This year, Van Persie has been in the best form of his life. The striker has managed to score a highly impressive thirty three goals in the thirty three games he played this year and he seems to be intent on breaking http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Shearer’s record of thirty six goals scored in a single calendar year.
Wenger is convinced his side is going to give it their all every time they step on to the pitch and feels that the attitude the team has developed is outstanding.

it is now only a matter of time before the team proves to the world just what they are capable of and hopefully they will do so by winning trophies sooner rather than later.
"There is a good, good spirit there. I am sure we will give absolutely 100 per cent and the game on Sunday will show how far we can go. I'm sure this group will fight to go as far as they can."
