Arsene Wenger admits that Arsenal’s defeat to Manchester United was a onetime thing
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has gone on to reveal that he doesn’t think his side would ever go on to lose to any team, the way they lost to Manchester United this season. The manager feels that the defeat was something out of the ordinary, was unexplainable
and was a onetime only occurrence.
However, the manager then went on to admit that the Gunners showed great spirit to come back from such a humiliating defeat to go on an defeat Swansea by a score of one goal to nil. Despite many considering that win to be a rather poor one, Wenger feels
that his side needed it to help boost their confidence and to get back in the right mindset.
When talking about the game against United, Wenger is quoted to have said: "You have to consider that last year we were the best away side in the league. Man Utd was a one-off.”
The manager then went on to talk about the game against Swansea and how at the end of the day, winning the maximum number of points was the important thing.
"What is important is the points. But we want to play well. Against Swansea we were under massive pressure, and will be again.”
"We must win. We live in an environment that questions us when we don't win. We do not criticise that and have to live with that.”
Wenger then went on to admit that his side needed to prove themselves with some brilliant performances over the course of the coming few days. Considering the team is going to face some massive criticism, he thinks it would be best for the Gunners to answer
their critics with performances on the pitch, instead of talking about them.
"We have to show performances, consistency and attitude quality, that makes us respected. It is as simple as that.
"That is why it is as important that we do not talk too much and play as well as we can."
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 seem to slowly be creeping their way back in the Premier League. The team was being counted to be down and out, but followed by some impressive performances over the course of the last two weeks, the Gunners seem to finally be getting back into the
zone.
However, for Arsenal and Wenger to really silence their critics, they are going to have to pick up a number of wins over the course of the coming months, otherwise no one is going to be able to take the team seriously again.
