Arsene Wenger backs his side to win Premier League title despite losing on three fronts
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has expressed full confidence in his team and has turned down all the criticism they are facing by emphasising that they can still overcome any team and win a trophy in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Wenger said he wants to do everything possible for his side to clinch the Premier League title.
The Frenchman admits that his side is currently low on confidence as they crashed out of three tournaments in two weeks. As a result, they only managed to draw 2-2 against West Bromwich Albion recently.
“Of course we were a bit nervous at the start of the game. We had four targets and now we have only one, so the pressure increases on that one. But the players are highly focused to do it and it was important not to lose on Saturday,” he claimed.
They were trailing 0-2 in their Premier League match and Wenger said that his side still has the unity and faith in them as they came from behind when 20 minutes were left to draw 2-2 against West Brom.
“The team has solidarity, unity and a desire to do well. I don't question that at all,” he added.
When asked about Jens Lehmann’s return as number one priority goalkeeper, Wenger refused to answer and stated that he was out of action for a long time but had kept his body fit.
Arsenal have witnessed horrifying time recently after being dumped out by Birmingham City in the final of the Carling Cup, by Manchester United in the sixth round at the FA Cup and by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the UEFA Champions League.
In addition to this, they now trail Premier League leaders Manchester United by 5 points after drawing against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns. However, Arsenal still have a game in hand and a Premier League title is Gunners last hope for glory in
the season.
