Arsene Wenger backs struggling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771
Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has expressed his support for the Gunners’ misfiring and out-of-luck forward, Andrei Arshavin.
The manager’s support for the player came after he saw his team draw with Leeds United at the Emirates.
Arshavin found himself being jeered upon by large sections of the crowd every time he got onto the ball in the game. When he missed a rather easy chance in front of the Leeds goal early on in the game, his confidence dipped even further.
However, one person who is not disappointed or worried by the player’s performances is Arsene Wenger. The manager seems to be more than confident that Arshavin will be back to his best.
The manager is reported to have said, “I have no worries that [Andrei] Arshavin will come back into the team, but their confidence does suffer a little bit from that.”
The manager seems to be well aware of the fact that Arshavin, despite not looking like he is at his best, is still one of the most crucial players of the Gunners. He has so far scored nine goals and gave thirteen assists in the twenty-four games he has played.
These stats are by no means below average. Arshavin, who usually plays on the left wing, creates goals, instead of scoring them. However, if he has managed to do that thirteen times, when his confidence is reported to be at an all time low, then it would
be scary to think about what he could do when he is in form.
Wenger later on went acknowledged high demands of the Arsenal fans and stated that their demands for perfection were the cause for them to perform as good as they are.
The manager added that he hopes Arshavin can manage to pick himself up and rise to his best again, while he asked the rest of the squad to also try to perform even better.
If Arsenal can manage to further improve their current performances, then it is safe to say that there would be at least one trophy added to the silverware cabinet at the Emirates by the end of the season.
