Arsene Wenger believes http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are now back on track following their win over Sunderland – Premier League Update
Arsene Wenger believes that Arsenal are now finally back on track, after the team went on to secure their third win of the Premier League season, having beaten Sunderland by two goals to one.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 opened the scoring for the Gunners in the game, but his effort was cancelled out in the dying stages of the first half, via a brilliantly taken free kick by Seb Larsson. Van Persie once again went on to inspire the Gunners, as he tucked
away a brilliant free kick in the eighty third minute and in doing so, he secured all three points for the team.
Following the game, Wenger has been quite confident over the team’s future and believes that the North London club might finally be on course to making their way into the top half of the Premier League table.
When talking about the game against Sunderland, Wenger talked about the resilience shown by his side, as he admitted the team has done enough to prove that they are capable of competing with the best.
Wenger is quoted to have said:  “We started well for the first 25 minutes and when they equalised we were wobbling with confidence and struggling with confidence”
The manager then revealed that the team re-grouped at the half time break and managed to get their act together once again.
“At half-time we regrouped and the second half was all us. I’ve seen a few games over the weekend and Sunderland, of all the teams I’ve seen away from home, were 100 per cent committed.”
“We have now won five games on the trot at home and I believe that the attitude and spirit of the team is great.”
The Gunners boss then ended by admitting the team had the motivation to perform better and now it was only a matter of time before the team got back into the top four once again.
“They want to improve. They were given a tough time and had a good response. The motivation is there, the quality is there and we will slowly get there.”
Following their win on Sunday, Arsenal have now gone ahead and picked up three wins from their opening eight games. Despite those stats not being very convincing for a team like Arsenal, it seems like the team might actually be coming together.
The Gunners previously seemed to lack the confidence and mentality needed to work together, but with that now being sorted out, it is only a matter of time before the team competes for top honours once again.
