Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal striker Park Chu Young will need time to adjust to fast paced football
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has gone on to admit that South Korean international, Park Chu Young is going to require some time, before he adjusts to the fast paced football that Arsenal play.
The striker was part of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 side that played host to Marseille at home last night, however, the forward was not up to the mark and as a result, was taken off in the second half of the game.
The South Korean was part of the Arsenal side that went on to register a two goals to one win over Bolton in the Carling Cup and Young scored the match winning goal in that game.
The player was expected to repeat a similar performance in the game, however he just couldn’t seem to adjust to the pace and the intensity of the Champions League. As a result, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 was brought on to replace the forward, in order to try and salvage
the three points for the Gunners.
During the game, Park seemed to lack his natural pace and his positioning and control was also a little sloppy. However, given that this was only the third appearance that the player made ever since he joined the North London club from Monaco in August,
earlier this year.
Wenger went on to highlight all of these aspects when talking about the forward, as the manager admitted that perhaps it was the lack of game time that caused the player to not deliver under the pressure of the Champions League.
"He did very well last week. Tonight you could see that he lacked the pace of the game a little bit because he has not played enough games," Wenger said.
Nonetheless, given that Wenger has now opted to start the forward in a Champions League game, what can be said assuredly, is the fact that he is going to be featuring in a whole lot more games for the Gunners in the near future.
All in all, it seems like this off par performance is going to set the players career at the Emirates in motion.
