Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that following the performance that Gunners captain Robin Van Persie put in against Sunderland, there is no doubt over his loyalty.
The striker was believed to be on the brink of leaving http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, following his statements which suggested him not wanting to put pen to paper on a contract extension at the club.
However, the player stated that he would do his talking on the pitch and that is exactly what he managed to do.
The striker scored both the goals in the Gunners game on Sunday and this in turn helped the team pick up a two goals to one with over the Black Cats. Following the game, Van Persie had managed to score eleven goals in the fifteen appearances that he made
for the North London club this term.
Despite the striker not being open to new contract talks, Wenger believes that he has done enough to win the trust of his fans and his team mates.
When talking about Van Persie and his dedication to the North London club, Wenger is quoted to have said: “It depends what you call commitment”

“For me commitment is not about how long you are at a club. As long as you are at a club you will give 100 per cent until the last day of your contract.

“That for me is what you call commitment. The length of a contract is completely different. For me you have players who have ten-year contracts who don't give full commitment, and for me it is not about the length of a contract."

Following the game and his comments about Van Persie and his dedication to the Gunners, Wenger then turned his attention to the upcoming Champions League game between Arsenal and Marseille. The manager once again admitted that he would have to really think
his squad through, since he is still un sure over who he is going t be fielding in the game.

"Gibbs has an inflammation of his stomach muscles. He has a small chance of playing on Wednesday,” Wenger said.

"Ramsey has a small chance of being in the squad. He had fatigue of his hamstring. I wanted to give him a breather - it would have been a gamble to play him."
After a rather decent performance over the weekend, the Gunners are now going to be in top form going into their Champions League game. As a result, they are now being hailed as the favourites to come out on top on Wednesday night.
