The Arsenal manager has warned his players that they cannot depend on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 to bail them out of trouble every time and especially when things come to a crucial head next week as Arsenal take on West Bromwich Albion
at the Hawthorns stadium...
Arsenal failed to make a positive impact in the race for the third place spot in the Premier League via their draw against Norwich City at the previous weekend as the Gunners drew 3-3 with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723. The match itself was an
extremely exciting one but it highlighted the frailties in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s back line.
Another bad news that came out of the encounter was the injury to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bacary-Sagna-c7148 who is now going to miss the last league match of the season for Arsenal as well as the European Championships for the French national team. Wenger’s
team have done well in recent weeks but now they need to really gain all three points against West Bromwich Albion in their last league match to make it to UEFA Champions League football next season. Chasing the Gunners are Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle
United who are doing their bid to gain the third place spot.
Wenger said, "When you look at the chances we created, it is absolutely unbelievable that we scored only three goals. Again we are punished because Robin had to score and many times we do not get enough goals from elsewhere. We
had so many obvious chances that you would want somebody else to score one. That does not happen enough.”
He added, "Of course we need to address that because I feel there was enough room to score six or seven goals. Is it down to too much preparation, not being switched on or subconsciously thinking we will manage to do it? We have
character because to come from where we did [earlier in the season], but maybe subconsciously we thought, 'okay, we will do it against Norwich'. We have had room to do even better.”
