Arsene Wenger confident about Arsenal's visit to Old Trafford

Arsene Wenger is set to face Manchester United tonight and has claimed that his team is capable of psychologically blowing the other team out. He’s convinced to achieve a victory over the mighty Red Devils and to show everyone
that Arsenal is still one of the top clubs of England and are in the title race. When asked about Manchester United’s unbeaten run, Arsene Wenger didn’t hesitate to criticize United drawing so many games.
He said:
“It’s a big game for us because we know that we have to convince people that we can do well in the big games. We know as well that looking at the championship it's an important place to win points. At the moment, we are in a strong position in the league.
We go away for a big game. One or two of the big games, we need to win away from home. That is what is at stake for us. It's more psychological for the rest of the season than a decider, mathematically. They have recent history going for them and, in fairness,
they have always big teams. But we have built a team and slowly come up and now we have an opportunity to show we are ready for the championship title.”
It has been four years since Arsenal have won at Old Trafford, but the significant point here is the win at Old Trafford in the 1998 and 2002 season made the Gunners take the league title so Arsene Wenger is putting all his efforts
to write this game in his own way. Arsene Wenger Believes that winning this game would provide a huge boost to the morale as they’re at the top and Chelsea is struggling with form, so this is the perfect time to strike the iron.
Wenger believes that Arsenal is performing better than Manchester United, as the latter has been guilty of drawing a lot of easy games. He believes that his side’s defense has something to prove in this match as it was exposed
against almost every team this season.
“We have won at Man United before, recently not, but last year it was very close and I personally think we are in a strong position. We are questioned defensively so we can show there that defensively we have the answer. But looking at the League, we conceded
only two more goals than Manchester United but we have an advantage as they played one game less so there's a game left to concede goals in. Therefore, we are scoring in similar fashion to that of Manchester United and are not conceding more goals than them.
If you look at the stats of this season, they're a kind of a team who has drawn many games whereas our wins are greater in number, so therefore we're definitely on a winning track."
When asked about Theo Walcott’s frustration over not getting a spot in the starting lineup of big games, Wenger admits that Walcott is a match winner and has clinched Arsenal a spot in the Round of 16 of the Champions League because
of his goals against Partizan Belgrade. Despite Walcott’s frustration, he’s likely to be at the bench against Manchester United. Wenger quoted Walcott as a “regular player” as long as he performs consistently in all the matches. Wenger believes that Walcott
understands his why he is on the bench and that gives him all the more reason to work harder, to fight for his place in the starting 11.
