season approaches...
Arsene Wenger has elaborated on the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 saga and revealed that he is determined to keep the Dutch striker at Arsenal despite his refusal to sign another contract at the club. Van Persie is a target of interest from
several clubs in the Premier League as well as in Serie A as Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus are thought to be interested in signing the Dutch striker.
Van Persie was prolific for Arsenal last season as he led them by example to a UEFA Champions League qualification place. However as the Dutchman enters into the last year of his present contract with Arsenal, things are starting
to change as he has thus far refused to sign another contract extension.
Wenger has been adamant that he wants Van Persie to stay at the club but if http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 do not part ways with the Holland forward this summer, he can very well leave on a free transfer if he wishes to do so in the next January transfer
window. Wenger has been quite diplomatic in his approach to the whole saga thus far.
He said, “For me, Van Persie is one of the best strikers in the world, if not the best, and my desire is to keep him at the Club As for the rest I will do what is in the best interests of Arsenal Football Club. That, at the moment,
is where we are. There is not a lot more to say than that.”
Wenger added, “Robin was an exceptional leader last year. But we know how much we had to fight to come third because we missed out the start of the season. After seven games we had lost four and we have learned that for us it is
vital for us to focus on the start of the season.”
