Arsene Wenger has admitted that it is highly unlikely for anyone to join Arsenal in the January transfer window, but hopes the fans have seen enough to keep their faith in the team.
Arsenal took on Aston Villa in the FA Cup last night and they kicked things off rather poorly. The team went down by two goals before the half time break and the Gunners were booed as they walked off the pitch.
However, in the second half, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 turned things around and went on to pick up a win by three goals to two in the end.
Following the game, the Arsenal manager hailed his side’s performance and admitted that the spirit shown by the team was good enough to have anyone think twice about the Gunners.
The manager then went on to reveal that despite his best efforts it would be very hard to make any signings before the end of the January transfer window, as he went on to add: “I cannot say ‘nothing’ will happen but it will be a little bit of a miracle now. The biggest thing for us is to get our players back. When you look at the bench today, we had top quality.”
Wenger then gave the fans some more good news, as he admitted Wilshere’s injury wasn’t as bad as it was initially expected to be and the midfielder could be back sooner rather than later.
“I spoke to Jack today. There will be more tests this week. But I don’t know when he will start training. I didn’t speak to the medical department today.”
Wenger then went on to highlight the spirit the fans and the team showed against Villa and hopes for them to do the same in the future.
Wenger then ended on a high as he stated: “I am sad that we can't always keep the fans happy, but we just have to show the spirit we showed today”
“I felt they (fans) were quite positive compared to last time (the defeat to Manchester United). They saw some interesting things today.”
It is now up to Arsenal to maintain their form and hope for it to help them produce more positive results in the future.
