http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 for the performance that he put up against Tottenham Hotspur, as he scored the last two goals which helped the Gunners win by five goals to two.
In the game against their local rivals, Arsenal went on to concede two early goals and seemed to be on course to losing another game. However, as the match progressed, the Gunners picked up their form and went on to draw level at two all, before the end
of the half.
In the second half, Tomas Rosicky gave the Gunners the lead, but it seemed like Tottenham would still be able to get back in the game.
Walcott, who had performed rather poorly in the opening forty five minutes, seemed to finally get his act together, as the winger went on to score two quick goals, which helped Arsenal put the game to bed.
Wenger went on to save a special praise for Walcott and his contributions in the game, as the manager is quoted to have said: “The crowd was starting to get on Theo’s back”
“You don’t know whether to do him a favour by taking him off or leave him on.”
“I felt he had the qualities to get behind defenders. He’s a very direct player. Sometimes he misses a first touch but i felt it was important to keep him in the team for the balance of our side.”
“We had a good balance between offence and defence, we had creativity and went into the space behind defenders. I felt it was a performance of good maturity.”
Walcott has been one of the most confusing players in the Gunners squad this season. The attacker seems to disappear into the crowd and starts to put up very poor and shabby displays. However, just when it seems like he has nothing to give, he strikes out
of nowhere and leaves everyone with a performance to remember.
Nonetheless, Wenger needs to get the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international to start performing at the same level more consistently, otherwise the attacker could prove to be nothing more than a liability on the long run.
