Arsene Wenger has no plans to loan Aaron Ramsey
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has denied claims that Aaron Ramsey would be loaned out to another club once he returns from his lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Ramsey, who joined Arsenal from Cardiff City in the summer of 2008, suffered a horrific leg break against Stoke City in February after being tackled by Ryan Shawcross.
The midfielder suffered the injury after making 18 league appearances during the 2009–10 season.
The 19-year-old, who has spent months in the gym rehabilitating his leg, began training with a ball in the last week of October, and is nearing a return for Arsenal's first team.
Rumours have held that Ramsey would be loaned to another team following his return to fitness, but Wenger, speaking to the club's official website, said he had no intention of letting the Welshman go.
"What is important is that he comes back into the group now and that he plays for a while with us," the manager said. "At the moment we are not talking about [a loan deal] at all. He is making surprising progress with the team, so no [he will not be loaned
to another team]. Though there might be some clubs who want a good player like him on loan."
Ramsey to face competition on his return
Since the start of the season, several of Wenger's midfielders, including Jack Wilshere, Samir Nasri and Alex Song, have made significant progress.
Competition will therefore be stiff once Ramsey makes his return, which will likely be next month after his fitness is tested with the reserve team.
"At the end of the month he should be alright to play in the reserves. That is the target."
Arsenal defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2–0 on Wednesday 10 November, with Marouane Chamakh grabbing both goals for the Londoners.
Their next league game is away to Everton on Sunday, 14 November.
