Arsenal’s manager has made no secret of his feelings about the culture of overspending in club football which has certainly come to the forefront of things in the English Premier League through Chelsea and Manchester City and
now PSG from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 are also joining in on the party...
Arsene Wenger has been criticized over the past four to five seasons of being overly cautious when investing in new players in the summer transfer window for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. The Arsenal manager has faced a lack of success at Arsenal for
the last half a decade and fans have been on his back to invest heavily in new players to keep arsenal competitive.
The lack of silverware at the Emirates stadium has already seen the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Manchester City. Wenger has been adamant that his policy of
nurturing youth and not spending over the top to bring in established stars is the way forward but now Arsenal’s captain, Robin Van Persie has also showcased his desire to part ways with the Gunners.
Amidst all of this, Wenger has now come out and criticized the likes of Paris Saint Germain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Manchester City who have led this drive to pay exuberant fees to sign stars in the transfer market. Wenger has suggested that
such a trend is indeed destructive for football at large.
The Frenchman said, "We consider ourselves in a privileged position because we have a massive income. But overall we are not mega-rich because we do not have unlimited resources. A club can buy players like PSG has done or Manchester
City or Chelsea, with unlimited resources, but overall football suffers.”
He added, "Look at the activity on the transfer market since the start of the summer. PSG are ambitious and they have resources and that's it. We talk always about the same things.”
Wenger faces a battle to hold onto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 in the current transfer climate as the Dutchman has already made it clear that he is not willing to sign a new contract with the London club despite the faith that the Arsenal
manager has shown in him.
