Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal will not sign players in January (Part 2)
(Continued from Part 1)
Nonetheless Arsenal have been facing their fair share of problems once again this season, because Arsenal's players just can’t seem to go on and play a whole season without getting injured at least once. As a result Arsenal have often been found to be rather
thin at the back, due to the lack of players in the squad.
Wenger himself previously stated that Arsenal were in desperate need to land a centre-back or two. However with the manager now stating he doesn’t plan on doing so, it seems like a mystery as to what is going on inside his mind. This is because it is no
mystery that Arsenal currently only possesses three quality centre-backs, and only one right-back in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bacary-Sagna-c7148. The only player that Arsenal can resort to in the absence of Sagna is Emanuel Eboue, who happens to be a midfielder and not a very good full-back.
Apart from that, Arsenal have only one true holding midfielder in the shape of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804. The team has a good handful of younger players who can also play as a holding midfielder, but once again those younger players are by no means cup winners just yet.
It is a rather bizarre turn of events, that has seen Wenger go on from claiming to be close to landing a handful of players, to mentioning how he plans on using the same team for the rest of the year. The fact of the matter is that despite Arsenal possessing
some of the best talent they have had for quite some time, they still need reinforcements if they hope to successfully win any trophies this season. However if that is not the case, then Arsenal could happen to go another year without any silverware, only
this time around the reason for the team failing to win anything would be down to Wenger’s arrogance and inability to make the kill in the transfer market.
Nonetheless if the transfer market rumours are anything to go by, it is being rumoured that Real Madrid are looking to land Gael Clichy. If that is the case, then Arsenal will have to turn to the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kieran-Gibbs-c20945, who has managed to get injured five
out of the eight times he has taken the pitch for the team.
All in all it seems like a rather bumpy road up ahead for Arsenal, unless of course Wenger manages to finally get his act together after years of trying. If that does happen to be the case a month from now, then it is safe to say Arsenal could be ending
the season with a handful of trophies as opposed to landing none.
