Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to hint that he could extend his stay at the Emirates, and went on to insist that he was an Arsenal man.
The Frenchman came into the club, as he took over as their manager in 1996. Since then, he has gone on to help the team win the league three times, with one of those league wins coming off an unbeaten season.
Despite him not helping the team win a trophy in the last seven years, it seems like the club’s executives would still like to extend his stay at the club.
His current contract is set to run out in 2014, but based on what http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 Gazidis said, it seems like they will be looking to ask him to stick around for much longer than that.
In a recent interview, the manager went on to talk about his future, as he is reported to have said: "I have two years to go. What is important for me is Southampton [on Saturday] and I think I have shown my commitment to this club in the past"
"At the moment I am not in the mood to think about the long-term future. We want to do well this season, that's all.”
"I am an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 man. I think I have always shown that. I have to consider if I do well or not. If I don't do well, I have to consider my future.”
"I have been at the club long enough to have confidence in the people I work with, but I will assess my own performances and then make a decision, at the moment we are not there.”
It seems like Wenger is still committed to helping Arsenal do their very best, despite him getting abused by a number of the club’s supporters of the last couple of years.
The progress that he has made with the team is outstanding and the fact that he manages to always finish in the top four is also a very notable fact.
Nonetheless, it is now a wait to see whether he extends his stay with the team or not.
