Arsene Wenger looking to go shopping in the Park
Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has reignited his interest in Everton’s play maker Steven Pienaar and is reported to be willing to make a move for the Goodison Park reprehensive as early as January.
The Everton and South African international, has been given permission to speak to potential suitors in January and with Wenger already thought of the player as a worthy addition to his side, this might be just the news that the manager needed to make an
official move for the player, to try and bring him to the Emirates. At the same time, the manager will also be strongly hoping that no other dangerous offers are made for the player, so that his move from the Goodison Park to the Emirates can go about smoothly.
The twenty seven year old, who has formerly played for the likes of Ajax and Borussia Dortmund had been strongly linked to Arsenal prior to joining Everton. However since the manager already missed an opportunity to sign the player in the past, it seems
like he won’t be letting another golden ticket to signing the player fly past him so easily.
Pienaar is a very versatile attack minded midfielder, he likes playing as a central attacker, but seems to have no difficulties when asked to play on either flank or even as a second striker. Also considering the players contract is going to be running out
in the summers, Everton would be willing to let go of the player for whatever they are being offered, which means the player could potentially cost Arsenal peanuts and the current market price for peanuts in the Premier League is set to be around four million
pounds.
Pienaar could prove to be a very worthy addition to the Arsenal side, with most of the players at the Emirates constantly being injured, they could really use the likes of another attack minded player, who can play almost anywhere up front. He could also
help take some pressure off the Arsenal captain, Cesc Fabregas who has been playing more games then he should and as a result he has been out injured more often then he would like to be.
However most experts strongly believe that despite this move being a very good opportunity for Arsenal to boost their attack, what the team should really be focusing on is their defense. The team is in a very urgent need of some backup centre backs and more
importantly the team could desperately use a world class goal keeper. The experts have also advised Wenger that perhaps he should first get his priorities set and move in for a defender and a goal keeper and once that is done, he could look to boost the already
more than capable Arsenal attack, which by all means is one of the best in the world at the moment.
Nonetheless Pienaar would be a very competent addition to the Arsenal side and one that would indicate to the fans that Wenger has finally changed his transfer strategies.
