Arsene Wenger looks to build Arsenal hopes yet again – EPL debate
OK then! Arsenal followed Manchester United for a number of months at number two position. They then went on to being number one for a brief moment then down again to number three. They took over Chelsea to be in top two again. After such an eventful roller
coaster ride (read dismal and disappointing), Arsene Wenger’s team finished an eventual fourth. They were three points behind http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747 of 68 points.
The fans have been calling for the heads to turn but Arsene Wenger has the full support of the Arsenal’s bosses.
From March until the month of May, Arsenal have not even looked the shadow of a team that the club is often thought of being. To put it shortly, they have been in complete shambles. They have largely been taken as a training ground for future stars. So many
like Cesc Fabregas have come here and became high profiled players, only to be bought by other established clubs. They came very close at doing away with the notorious label.
With the advent of teams like Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, Wenger is faced with a dilemma to not only give the team a face lift but also has to rebuild the broken egos.
Wenger has to come to a decision regarding his longest serving member of the team, after Fabregas. Clichy has been around and understands the philosophy that Wenger runs his affairs by. The interest showed in him by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 prove that Clichy still
has what it takes to be a top class defender. The issue needs to be settled. Ideally, Wenger needs to rethink his use of the defender or simply part ways.
Let’s stay on the defence for now. Centre-backs have leaked a lot of goals this season. Loss of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 to injuries, until almost the end of the season, certainly did not help. He was required to carry on the form he showed two years ago. The backup
plan with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Johan-Djourou-c18779. Wenger’s reserve, Sebastien Squillaci should only be there to warm the bench and made to play only when the team is
in dire need in case of an injury to any front line defender.
All in all, Vermaelen needs to return to the line up in the same form as he was before his injury and Djourou needs to carry forward his top game and Arsenal should have a stronger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 to prevent any of the absurd let-offs that we witnessed last season.
Add http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212 – they are a potential transfer to Arsenal – and the Gunners look like a total team altogether.
Towards the front, Arsenal had Robin Van Persie, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771 with all having the ability to score. For some odd reason, all of them looked off-colour. For Fabregas, Wenger needs to figure
out a way to hold him back. Without him the Gunners might show a continuation of shady performances.
In Arshavin and Walcott, Wenger has top wingers. But when out of form, they look beyond mediocre. He needs to lift them up so they give out more key passes andgoal scoring opportunities to the strikers.
Nasri and Fabregas were undoubtedly Wenger’s best players. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 was out for most of the season due to an injury, but came back with good solid performances towards the end of the English Premier League.
With all the rumours circulating the market right now, Wenger cannot afford to let both Nasri and Fabregas go. If one of them stays back with Arsenal, the fans can renew their hopes of earning a piece of silverware this coming season. They need to count
on Wenger’s usual solid footing during the open transfer windows for him to keep back at least one of his top gunner at the Emirates Stadium.
The fans know the best that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are never out of contention. They will be in the running this coming season as well. They hope again as Wenger looks to build once more.
