Arsene Wenger refuses to rule out January transfer possibilities
The longest-serving manager of the Gunners, Arsene Wenger, has refused to rule out the possibility of bringing in new players in the January transfer window.
Arsenal are currently placed third in the League standings and although Wenger concedes he is not close to signing any player, the Frenchman didn’t rule out the possibility entirely.

The Gunners’ boss said, "I don’t say no and at the moment I say we are not close to signing anybody.”

Moreover, it has been reported that Premier League title contenders, Manchester City, who Arsenal will face on 5 January, are about to sign a new player in January. While commenting about Manchester City’s situation, Arsenal manager acknowledged that new signing
would only make Manchester City more dangerous.

Arsenal manager added, “Will it make them more dangerous? Certainly as well, but they are already a threat for the championship. To buy is always a risk but if they buy players like [Wolfsburg striker Edin] Dzeko there is also the risk that they are much stronger
offensively because this guy can score goals. I don’t think that they will be weaker if they buy, they will be stronger.”

Wenger, while reflecting on 2010 that saw his team finish third in English Premier League and reach quarterfinals of UEFA Champions League, acknowledged that he only remembers the bad times of the last year.
He said, “I have not the memory of good moments unfortunately. I have only the memory of painful moments. I expect always the best to be in front of me and the worst to be behind me. Therefore I remember only bad moments. So, every single defeat of 2010
is still very painful in my heart and I hope that 2011 will be much less painful than 2010.”
Arsenal drew their last match against Wigan Athletic at DW Stadium by two goals each. The Gunners will play their next match against Birmingham City on Saturday at St. Andrews Stadium.
They have not won in their last two visits to Birmingham; however, Arsene Wenger and his team defeated Birmingham in Barclays Premier League fixture in October 2010 and are favourites to repeat the feat again on Saturday.
