Arsene Wenger refuses to rule out http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 for clash with Barcelona
After Arsenal went on to beat local Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers with ease, Arsene Wenger went on to focus towards the teams next match, which is set to take place against European giants Barcelona at the quarter final stages of the Champions
League.
However, the most notable aspect about Arsene Wenger's comments was the fact that he went on to state that Samir Nasri could potentially be a part of the side, when the Gunners play host to the Catalan's on Wednesday night.
It was earlier believed that there was no chance in h**l that the French midfield magician would be available for Arsenal's first leg clash with their Spanish rivals, but it now seems like there is an outside chance of that happening.
When talking about Nasri's potential involvement in the game, Wenger is reported to have said: "I wouldn't say he has no chance (of playing against Barcelona). I would say there is a chance".
It is quite unclear if the manager already knows that the player is going to be fit for the game, or if the manager is just as oblivious as the rest of the Arsenal fans.
However, that being said, the involvement of Nasri in the Arsenal side would give the team a major boost in the right direction. This is because so far this season Nasri has easily been Arsenal's player of the season.
The player was racking up goals and assists for fun and it seemed like after suffering a humiliating beat down at the hands of the Spanish club, the last time these two teams met, Arsenal might stand a chance this time around, with that chance being in the
shape of Nasri this time around.
However, when Nasri picked up a hamstring injury just a fortnight before the clash with Barcelona, it was believed that the team's chances of getting anything out of the game were cut to half.
Nonetheless, with news that the player might just make it for the game means that Wenger will not have to re-think his strategy and could continue using the philosophy that he has been using so far this season.
Nonetheless, even if Nasri manages to make a miraculous recovery for the game, the Gunners will still have to put on the game of their lives, in hopes of standing any chance of progressing to the next round of the Champions League.
With almost all the odds against the North London side, the game against Barcelona is going to be a true test of the team's credentials and will help show everyone just what they are made of.
