Arsene Wenger scoffs at Nani’s Premier League prophecy
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has responded to Nani’s recent prediction that either Chelsea or Manchester United will win the Barclays Premier League. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 had earlier claimed that Chelsea were the only threat for the Red Devils this season and that he does
not see any other team winning the league. In his statement earlier today, the Portuguese winger completely dismissed the title bids of both Manchester City and Arsenal.
Wenger is less than impressed with Nani’s comments. The Arsenal manager maintains that his side has a strong chance of clinching the title. Speaking on the Portuguese international’s comments, Wenger said, “Everybody has a different opinion in this league
and nobody is perfect. We live in a society where everybody knows everything and it is a shame to say, 'I don't know'. I personally don't know who will win the league and I have managed 1,600 games. If Nani knows, he must be 1,600 times more intelligent than
I am.”
Arsenal have failed to win a single trophy since their 2005 F.A cup victory over Manchester United. The Gunners have come close to ending their title drought over the past few years, but they consistently stumble near the finish line. One of the major concerns
for Arsenal fans is the team’s abysmal record against the top two sides in recent seasons. Arsenal have not recorded a win in their last 11 games played against Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, managing just one draw.
The Gunners have already lost their away games at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford this season. If they are to have any hope of regaining the Barclays Premier League title, Arsene Wenger’s young charges absolutely have to get results when they welcome United
and Chelsea to the Emirates. The current season of the Barclays Premier League is the most unpredictable in recent memory. Many a pundit would be hard pressed to pick a winner at this stage of the competition. However, we will be one step closer to knowing
the truth when the next round of matches start on the 26th of December.
