Arsene Wenger still adamant on not releasing Fabregas to the desperate Barcelona

The Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has refused yet again to an attempt made by Barcelona FC in order to acquire the skilful Spanish striker Cesc Fabregas. What seems like the last act of trying to reunite the lost Spanish midfielder was met again by the stubborn French manager.
Though the French manager who came to Arsenal in 1996 has time and again said that his player is not for sale, persistence from Camp Nou has bent him to agree on a suitable price. Unfortunately for the Catalans the price the Gunners coach has suggested is only just to Wenger. He has said that that if the Barcelona board wants to even talk about him selling the prodigal Spanish striker, they should look at a price of 60 million pounds while the their new President Sandro Rosell and manager Pep Guardiola are not willing to pay more than half of that.
It has been a long desire of the Spanish club to get their hands back on their former player who started his early career from their club but made a switch when he was 16 years old as he mentioned that he was constantly being overshadowed by the more successful Xavi and Iniesta in the midfield.
He then made a transfer to the Gunners at their peak while the North Londoners had received the nickname of the “Invincibles”, after they managed a perfect season and no team seemed to be close enough to counter them.
At Arsenal the young player was bred up by Wenger and soon they both have admitted that their relationship grew into a father to son one. Under his wings the player evolved even more and became one of the world’s best midfielders. He was soon promoted from the second team to the first and since then has played a significant role in the successes of Arsenal. Eventually he has been granted the captaincy position too and right now he leads the Gunners.
Early in the summer Barcelona offered Arsenal a 29 million pound offer however Arsenal were adamant that their captain is heading to no other club. Fabregas on the other hand is very eager to return to his former home and join the club along with his other Spanish team mates. The Spanish club compromises of a large number of Spanish international players that are part of the first squad.
This World Cup Fabregas did complain of not being put in the team that often and when he was brought on it was usually as a substitute. However, the reason for that is the fact that La Furia Roja has already a too much star studded squad and therefore the position of Fabregas was very hard to make. In the end though, the lone goal that granted Spain the spoils of victory in the finals and made them the World Champions was because of the goal of Iniesta who was assisted by Fabregas.
The 23 year old midfielder has 187 caps for Arsenal in which he has scored 32 times and for Spain he has played in 54 matches scoring 6 goals. Last season he had 36 appearances for the North Londoners from which he had 19 goals and 19 assists, therefore playing a pivotal role again for Arsenal’s success.
Wenger has praised the player and said, “I am very happy with Cesc and we are all very happy at the club with Cesc”. But he has also emphatically stated, “He is a very important player for us, he is our captain and we have worked very hard [for him] to be the future of our team and that is why we are always adamant about (not) letting him go."
Barcelona has been trying to attain Fabregas since June however Wenger has emphatically stated since that time they are not going to sell the coveted player. Fabregas is still bound with Arsenal for at least the next 5 years and the man involved in the negotiations for Fabregas has said, “Arsenal don't want to sit down and negotiate with us”.
Nearly all Barcelona players have voiced that their former team mate wants to return back to Camp Nou but Wenger is giving them the silent treatment. Fabregas and Wenger did have a tussle on the issue before the World Cup but they both later announced that they had resolved it and since then they have not had any more quandaries.
Wenger has stated on Fabregas’ Barcelona signing issue, “It is only noise. In our job we have to deal with what we can master. What we cannot influence is not to worry about”.
