Arsene Wenger tells Gunners to go for the quadruple
It is a known fact that Arsene Wenger is looking to end Arsenal’s long-standing trophy drought this season. However, perhaps the Frenchman might be overdoing it slightly. Wenger has given his lads the go-ahead to aim for an unprecedented
quadruple.
At this stage of the season, Arsenal find themselves within touching distance of four trophies. Not only are the Gunners gaining on the Premier League leaders, they are still in with a shot of winning the Champions League, Carling
Cup, and the F.A Cup crowns. With the quadruple still in contention, manager Arsene Wenger has urged his players to give it their all.
The Frenchman, who was recently declared as the IFFHS Coach of the Decade, believes that the Gunners have the ability to challenge for the top prize on all four fronts.
He said, “We are motivated to give our best in all the competitions, that is for sure. What can we win? We are not in a position to say that, we are in a position where we want to give our best and afterwards we will see where
we end up. What is good is we are in mid-January and we are still in all four competitions, so let's go for it."
Wenger has already stated that Arsenal’s confidence in their abilities is of vital importance. He maintains that belief is the key to their success this season.
The Gunners manager said, “We have shown since the start of the season that we can beat everybody. We feel that we are getting stronger and stronger. We have a stronger belief than at the start of the season and our togetherness
is better than at the start. I believe there is more to come out from this team and am convinced we will be stronger and stronger.”
However, it is highly unlikely that the Gunners will be able to win all four tournaments in which they are competing this season. Arsenal’s next test is a Barclays Premier League fixture against Wigan Athletic on 22 January at
the Emirates Stadium.
