Arsene Wenger thoroughly disappointed with Arsenal’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League Update
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has gone on to admit that he is thoroughly disappointed with the way his side has been performing in recent weeks. The manager has gone on to label his team’s performance as taking two steps forward and one step back, which
in all honesty is exactly what http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 have been doing so far this season.
Going into the game with Tottenham Hotspur this past weekend, Arsenal were on a win streak, having beaten both Bolton Wanderers and Olympiakos. As a result, the Gunners were expected to cause their opponents a handful of problems in the game. However, despite
that fact the Gunners lost the North London derby by two goals to one and at the moment, they have no one but themselves to blame for their loss.
Following the game, a very disappointed Wenger is quoted to have said: “It is two steps forward and one step back, it is exactly that"
"Sunday was a game we could have come out of with a point but it [our inconsistent form] is down as well to a lack of confidence.
"We will come back because you could see again that there is a strong spirit in the team. But we have to become a bit more realistic and do our http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 better in certain situations."
The manager then went on to surprisingly reveal that he was happy with the way that his defence was positioned in the game and felt that they were finally getting back to their best. However, having said that, the manager went on to admit that he was quite
disappointed with the way everyone let http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kyle-Walker-c21566 get on the ball and score the winning goal of the game from some twenty eight yards out.
"I felt on Sunday that defensively we are becoming stronger," continued Wenger.
"But we lost the ball from good positions in the final third so we could have done better with our passing.”
This loss has been a very harsh blow for the Gunners, who seemed to finally be getting back on the right track.
Nonetheless, the team now has a couple of days to try and get their injured players fit again. Given that the team is without a number of their starting players, Wenger might even take this time to try and help some of the younger players adapt to their
roles at the club.
All in all, the Gunners season is now going to be a real test of their character and how they finish it, will determine just where they lay as a club.
