Arsene Wenger to sign new players in January
The long serving manager of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that he would be in the market in January as wants to land some new players at the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger insisted earlier in the season that he would not bring any new player to Arsenal, as he was content with his current squad.
However, ‘The Professor’ has now had a change of heart and says he could make moves if the right players become available.
Arsene Wenger insisted that if he manages to find players of his choice than he will definitely be willing to bolster his squad.
The u-turn suggests that the Frenchman is of the opinion that his squad does need to be strengthened if they are to keep up the title challenge this season.
Arsene Wenger has already signed young Japanese sensation Ryo Miyaichi who will join the Gunners in January and it seems like ‘The Professor’ is also in the mood to bring two to three new players to Arsenal.
The legendary manager of Arsenal said,
"We respect our budget. You look at clubs who lose £100 million or £150m and if we do that, then we go bust. It's as simple as that. We pay what we can afford. I'm amazed that people are amazed that we do that. I think what is surprising is that people don't
respect that. The beauty of the competition and this club is to be successful while respecting the financial balance.”
Majority of the European top clubs are facing financial problems and are heavily in debt. However, Arsenal is the only top club in Europe which is debt free.
While talking about managing football with finance, Arsene Wenger said,
“People will maybe realise one day that it's not as easy to stay at the top and as well to cope with financial compulsories that you have at the top. We face rivals who do not respect the financial fair play. Instead of us being accused, maybe people should
look somewhere else."
Arsenal are currently placed second in Barclays Premier League sharing equal points with Manchester City, although Arsenal have one game in hand. The Gunners are only two points short of the league leaders Manchester United.
