Arsene Wenger urged to sign Joe Hart & Anderson happy to be safe
Premier League team Arsenal have had a problem with goal keepers in the last 2 seasons; Ever since the German keeper Lehman left, Wenger made Spaniard Manuel Almunia his number one. However Almunia has had his share of howlers, while the number 2 Lukasz Fabianski has not been short of errors either.
There has been a cry from the fans to sign a quality goalkeeper for long, and now a former Arsenal player Kenny Sansom has come out and asked Wenger to think about singing Joe Hart from Manchester City.
Last season it seemed as if there was something of a competition between the two Arsenal goalkeepers; for “Howler” of the season. Both had good claims and were equally comical.
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has not yet said if he wants to sign a goalkeeper or not. Wenger till now has maintained that he has what he needs in his squad, and will not make any more signings.
Joe Hart has been one of the most promising young keepers in the Premier League. He spent last season on loan at Birmingham and played an important role in helping them finish in the top 10.
The Australian has since made his way back to his parent club Manchester City, but considering that Shay Given is back to full fitness Hart is not expected to get much game time.
Sansom has said that the time is right and Hart will be the best choice, since he will also be willing to come. Sansom added that if Arsenal is to have a decent season they need to have an able man between the sticks.
While talking to Sky Sports he said that, Joe Hart is the right man for Arsenal, it is pretty clear that he is not going to get first team football. He went on to say that Arsene Wenger needs to talk to Roberto Mancini and ask if he has any plans of selling his number 2 keeper.
The former Gunner said that Hart is young and has abundance of talent, and will fit into Wenger’s policy of grooming a young team. He added that in simple words Hart will be a fantastic signing for Arsenal.
In general Arsenal fans have also expressed their frustration about not having a world class shot stopper. Many have voiced their opinion and said that if not Hart, Arsenal still need to get hold of a good enough keeper before the transfer window closes.
In other news from the Premier league, Manchester United’s Midfielder Oliveira Anderson has thanked his lucky stars that he is alive after a horrific accident in Portugal.
The left footed player was in his Audi car and driving a bit too fast; his car got out of control and crashed bursting into flames.
The Brazilian player was soon taken out of the car along with his friends and did not suffer any major injuries. It is believed that Anderson may still be asked by Police to come in for questioning.
Anderson said that he is definitely very lucky to have escaped any serious injury. He added that he did know the track very well and knew what he was doing. Anderson said that the car just got out of control while making a turn. He said that as soon as the car crashed people who were close by came running to help. He added that he is very grateful to all those who helped him and his friends out of the car.
Anderson has been plagued by injury for a while and did not play too many games for Manchester United last season. This season too he is not expected to be part of the team in the first few weeks. Manchester United medical team is expected to assess the fitness level of the player once he gets back to Old Trafford.
