Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged the Gunners fans to respect Robin Van Persie’s decision, when the player decides just what to do when his contract with the Gunners comes to an end.
The forward was back to his best on Sunday when he helped Arsenal pick up all three points against Sunderland, after he put in the two goals that helped Arsenal edge past the Black Cats with a two goals to one victory.
The strikers current contract with the club is set to run out in eighteen months, but so far he has constantly gone on to postpone his talks over a contract extension at the club. As a result, many believe the forward might be on his way out, once his current

He told reporters: “The ideal situation doesn’t exist often in football.
“The ideal situation is that he extends the contract. If he doesn’t, you have to respect that. What is important is that he plays like he plays. We are all here to see special football players and he is special.”
The manager then went ahead and hailed the striker and his ability to lead the team from the front, as he put in a captains performance against Sunderland, which helped the team pick up three very crucial points at this delicate stage in the competition.
Wenger added: “The most important thing is what you do today, tomorrow and how committed you are to the club.
