Arsene Wenger wants Arsenal to go all out against Olympiakos – Champions League Update
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger feels that the Gunners need to go all out and pick up all three points against Olympiakos in order to prove their worth to the world.
The Gunners are yet to win a game in the group stages of the Champions League, after having drawn their opening game against German side Borussia Dortmund. Based on that draw and his side not starting of the Premier League season as well as he would have
hoped for them to, Wenger has urged his side to go on and produce a thrilling game against Olympiakos.
When talking about his side and their start to the season, Wenger is quoted to have said: “We know we are a train that left the station a bit late, so we cannot afford any more to drop our consistency.
“Any victory will help us. I've always been optimistic because I feel the players are mentally strong and focused.
“I'm impressed by the quality of all the players we brought in, not only on the football pitch, but also their mental attitude is absolutely fantastic.
“That's what's at stake for us – to show that we can deliver week in, week out.”
Despite Olympiakos not being the toughest of opponents on paper, Wenger is not looking to let his side take their opponents lightly and is urging them to focus, going into the game.
He continued: “We have a lot of respect for Olympiakos. I've seen the game against Marseille; they played well. In the Champions League, you never win easy.”
“If you do not prepare properly, you have no chance.”
At the moment, Arsenal possess the right mindset and squad to go on and pick up all three points from their game. The Gunners are also looking to put an end to their critics, which is why this upcoming game is going to be a must watch for all football fans.
