Art Homework...?

Question

I have to research Art Movement- Expressionism

I've looked it up on Google but I still don't really understand what it is! Can anyone help me?

In the homework I need to include: at least 2 images (with title, artist, date and my opinion), a paragraph about expressionism and a bit about artists involved.

expressionism is a form of art where artists represent what they see, but incorporate their feelings into the piece as well. so like the colours and brushstrokes used will reflect their emotions =) look at the scream by edward munich, the colours represent the fear and terror that the artist is trying to convey..the brushstrokes are large and frantic.. =) hope that helps!

hey blue pony,, google "art history timeline" and you will find some downloadable material ........ that should give you the artists concerned and lead you to the artists and images you will need. remember your tutors want you to follow a lead so i would maybe start with edvard munch, they say he gave birth to expressionism. save up your valuable little student coffers and buy a book called ISM's by stephen little its a goldmine at a glance......p.s. i'm a second year myself
