My sister in an art teacher and right now her school has very little money in their budget for supplies. She is quite upset about this but instead of fretting I am trying to do something about it and set up a donation of art supplies at my job! This is a surprise for my sister and I don't want to tell her what I am doing. So this leaves me with no idea as to what kind of supplies to ask for. She teaches High School art so I am assuming that these are the things she might need. If you know of anything else that I would need to add to my list please HELP!!!

Safety Scissors

Color Pencils

White Glue (I know she uses a ton of glue)

Colored chalk

White Chalk

Any kind of paintbrushes

Pencils

Erasers

Crayons

Art Paint

Water colors

White Paper

Construction Paper

Posterboard

  1. For not having an idea, you have a very good list of art supplies that would be beneficial to any Art program.  Now, since you mention it is for high school, some of the items aren't going to be in as near demand.  Stick with the paints, colors, and poster board for sure.  You mention the white glue (Elmer's) but I think of young students when I think of Elmer's.  The ability to put a picture on a board or some small sculptures come to mind.  I recall things such as clothes pens used to ultimately create a paper weight/paper holder, but of course, times have changed so not sure that is still a good item that High Schoolers would want to do.  Being creative is key, though.  The link below offers some other advice, to include film, sketch books, and photo paper.  Good luck.
