For my art class I need to make a sketch (not a doodle) of something. It has to have at least one of the art elements in it. (Value, shape, line, form, texture, color, space. Please give me an idea of what i can do. Thanks.

  1. Simple.

    Your hand.

Place your hand in a position and draw it.

Your hand has a lot of lines and texture.

It will surely have shading...unless you are in a dark room.

And there will definitely be a lot of different shades of brown, black, skin tone color.

  2. Draw a top view of a Turtle, you accomplish all of the above, different values in the shell, round shell, squared legs, outer line, different anatomical sizes of head to legs, texture of skin to smooth shell, green vs. brown, easily fits dead center of any paper. enuf'....

  3. i like to find my "ideas" in magazines.

my FAVORITE place to find ideas is www.gettyimages.com

i pick something that looks interesting and then draw it to the best of my ability. if you find something you like, and try to draw it with the correct shading/shape/texture.. you're bound to ace this assignment!

a tip: whatever you might find online, save the picture and then convert it to greyscale.. makes it easy as pie to see where your darker shading should go.

  4. something simple like a coke bottole or can, or a cup....maybe some fruit. a flower, something like that if sketching is new to u,.  Animals and sceans and faces are A LOT harder.

  5. A folded blanket.   Definitely should have form, especially if it's a thick blanket.

  6. A crumpled piece of paper or perhaps aluminum foil to play with the light?

if you need something more complex, perhaps draw two objects together. use the hand idea but create a face or use the fingers as the legs neck and head of a horse.

For depth you could draw the view down a stair case from above.

I like to draw baby birds because I'm fascinated at the pigments and shadows of the organs you can see though their thin skin.

A lot of people draw hands but not that many draw feet.

you could draw the inside working gears of a watch or clock?

  7. How about an orphan girl with a shirt that says " orphanage child" or something like that and she looking out the window and  she sees a mom/dad playing with there girl having a good time. Hoped i helped!
