Question:

Art modeling question/need tips? (New to modeling)

I'm signed up to work at an art school in about a month, but I've gotten some offers to do freelance in the meantime.

What are fair prices to negotiate, and conditions to consider. And how can I be safe? (i.e. not end up naked at some strangers house.)

  1. Please don't do any freelance work until after you've had practice in a safe organisation, properly supervised.  Once you've done it and been paid per hour, and got used to being looked at, and standing for long periods holding difficult poses, you will be more in command of your skill.  Don't take on anything, anyway, without prior inspection and interview of prospective employers.

  2. I'd just suggest to check out anyone hiring you before agreeing. Make sure they are a reputable institution or something with credentials or at least a history of being not-a-creep.

Because theoretically, any creep could hire a model.

  3. If you even consider free lance modelling you would probably be safer at a lap dancing establishment.

  4. Don't take your clothes off for strangers.

Have someone help you with negotiation.

Don't get caught up with money and take it slow.
