Hi. I decided to go to art school to get my dream career!

Im looking for an art college were I can get some support in manga art? I tried the Art Institutes, and although I did find some alternates that did rather interest me there is nothing on manga. SIGH.

I don't mind going to Japan for a few years out of college but I am looking for something in the US if possible. I know that the mass manga market is all about Japan, but USA has an appeal. Oh well I'll do anything I just want this dream career. :)

Does anyone know a site I can find info in??? THANKS!

  1. well "manga" type of work usually isn't really allowed at art schools. It would probably fit under the Illustration category.

  2. Not sure whether you're referring to the style of which japanese comics are drawn, or the sequential art part of it. If you're referring to the style, you'd pretty much have to be self-taught in America, or look up some tutorials. If you're referring to the sequential art part of it, then there's a college/technical school run and taught by pro comic artists like Joe Kubert, Andy and Adam Kubert. There are different section of the course, and there are correspondence courses too if you'd like. Doesn't really matter what you're style if for that.
