Artemis Racing grabs title at Halic estuary in Istanbul: Extreme Sailing Series Act 3
Swedish team, Artemis Racing clinched the title of Extreme Sailing Series Act 3 at the Halic estuary in Istanbul at the end of the fifth and final day, Sunday, May 29. The skipper of Artemis Racing, Terry Hutchinson, was delighted with his team’s performance.
With the difference of only one point, Emirates Team New Zealand finished second with 306 points in the five-day racing event, while Group Edmond de Rothschild of France took third place with 296 points. Oman’s The Wave, Muscat came fourth with 274 points.
While talking to the media, the Artemis Racing skipper Terry Hutchinson said, “We knew around the last lap that we had one opportunity and we needed to pass one boat to win the regatta and we passed one boat. I jumped up to the first spreader when I heard
Seb say that we had won the regatta!”
Hutchinson added, “I can’t say enough about how great the guys are on the job. I’m over the top about how we sailed and how we handled ourselves on the boat in really tough conditions. I hate losing with an absolute passion but these moments make it all
worth it.”
