Artemis Racing owner, Torbjorn Tornqvist happy with season’s success: 2011 RC44 World Championships
Sweden’s Artemis Racing, driven by Torbjorn Tornqvist, sailed impressively throughout the 2011 RC44 World Championships and managed to claim the overall title at Puerto Calero in Lanzarote with 49 points, after sailing in 11 races. The Swedish team could
win only three races in the 11-race event but they clinched the title due to a consistent performance.
Artemis Racing owner/driver, Torbjorn Tornqvist, spoke to the media after the final race and said, “It’s great to finish the season like this, we had a good regatta, it was tight racing and an exciting event but it got a bit scary in the end. It wasn’t until
the last round before it was clear where we had come.”
The Swedish added, “We were lucky we had consistent good team work and I’m really happy with the team. Next year is a new season, hopefully we will be able to sail with the same team, like we did last season, and be able to pick up from where we left off.”

positions. Artemis Racing was followed closely by Ironbound with 51 points and Peninsula Petroleum Sailing Team with 58 points.
