"Whatever Yao Ming wants me to do, I'll be there. Whatever Tracy McGrady tells me to do, that's how it's going to go down. Ultimately, whatever [Rockets] coach Rick Adelman tells me to do is exactly what I'm going to do."

He knows that if he screws things up no one is going to pick him up after his contract is over

  1. yea it is his contract year, if he shows he can be reliable than he would get some good offers next year.

at least itll be interesting to see how he fits in with the rockets and how itll eventually turn out.

saying and doing are 2 completely different things, he can say all he wants but his rep and history doesnt give him much cred.

his best chance at a ring was with the pacers, the year the brawl happened.  he had a prime oneal, reggie miller who could still shoot lights out, and stephen jackson on that team, along with a younger healthier tinsley.  he screwed that one up big time didnt he.

hopefully hes learned from his mistakes and will take this seriously and professionally.

  2. I don't know about nobody picking him up after his next s***w up. There's thirty teams in the NBA. You're telling me not one GM will take a chance on Artest after, say, an injury or two to their team? Artest is still an elite defensive stopper, and one of the toughest, strongest players in the NBA.

  3. Hahaha, I don't see why he would do anything to mess this up. This is potentially the best chance he has at a ring. He boosts this team tremendously. He should just go along with it, win his ring, then s***w up whatever team picks him up next.

  4. Yes, thats just showing how much respect he has for T-Mac, Yao and the Rockets organization.

  5. He said the same thing about Sacramento...saying it wasn't his team, it was Bibby's and Miller's...he said that he'd do whatever Adelman wanted to do for the better of the team to get into the playoffs.

I've read reports on sites that said Yao and Artest already had a problem because Yao was mentioning the brawl a couple years ago...Artest's comments?

    "...I'm still ghetto."

He then goes on to say that if Yao needs to talk to Morey or McGrady, fine. But he's going to Houston whether Yao likes it or not.

Yeah, real improvement. Rockets will be lucky to get the sixth seed. This team is doomed.

  6. Well, Ron Artest has always been a great teamate in the beginning, it's over a long season that his antics start to get on people.  Everybody loves him in the beginning it's just he doesn't keep the same attitude and eventually reverts back to his old habits.

  7. he knows that the rockets acknowledges that he gots skills and acknowledges that the rockets has skills but i wonder if he acknowledges now that the only the thing left is if theres chemistry if theyre able to work well and complement each other he seems excited though and willing to make things work
