Arsenal’s prolific midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715 has gone on to insist that the Gunners are looking to fight till the end of the season to secure a spot in the top four.
The team is currently trailing their local rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, who are sitting in the fourth spot. The teams are separated by four points, and with twelve games left in the season, the team is more than capable of bouncing back and claiming the fourth
spot.
Both the North London clubs are set to face off in March, and the two teams are well aware of the fact that, the game could end up deciding just who secure Champions League qualification for the coming season.
Arteta, when talking about the game, and the team’s ability to push on till the end of the season is reported to have said:
“The Spurs game will be a big derby"
"This one is at their place and it could be decisive but we believe we have the quality to be where we deserve to be and we will fight until the end to get there.”
"Qualification is massive for us; we can't be out of the Champions League because it is the best competition."
However, the Spaniard made it rather apparent that the rise of teams such as Tottenham and Manchester City was making it much harder for the other teams in the league to end up performing at the levels that they are used to performing at.
"I think that, 10 seasons ago, it was not as difficult to get into the top four as it is now," he observed.
"At the moment, there are six or seven teams who can get there and that says a lot about the improvement of English football."
At the moment, the Gunners are more focused on the FA Cup and the Champions League. The team is set to take on Blackburn in the FA Cup, which will then be followed by Bayern Munich travelling to the Emirates to take on the team in a game, that is going to
end up deciding just how the team fairs in Europe for the rest of the season.
