http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715 has gone on to admit that him, along with the rest of the Gunners squad never lost faith in Arsene Wenger and the team’s dramatic turnaround in the current season is only due to the manager.
The North London club started off the Premier League season rather poorly, as they lost four of their opening eight games in the league.
The team also went on to lose one of their games by eight goals to two, when Manchester United ripped the team apart.
However, just when everyone thought the team was down and out, Wenger went on to build the team’s confidence and got their mentality just right.
The Gunners are now sitting in the third spot in the league table and look stronger then they have ever been.
Arteta believes the team was only able to perform this way due to Wenger and his experience in the league.
When talking about the team’s performances, the Spaniard is quoted to have said: "He has been here for 15 years and he has respect from all the players, staff and everybody at the club.”
"I think it is not easy for him to leave."
The midfielder then went on to address the team’s lack of trophies in recent years, as he believes that they need to first develop a strong squad and then the trophies are going to follow soon after.
He then went on to add: "When you are not winning at a club like Arsenal, obviously you are going to get criticism.”
"But the way is, how you respond. I think Arsenal have been unlucky in the last few years, getting to finals and not winning due to small details.”
"Afterwards, it is easy to blame. What happens if Manchester United do not win the title? It is going to be a disaster for Manchester United."
Should http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 play the coming season in the same manner, they could easily go on and win a number of trophies, while ending their trophy drought in the process.
