Arthritic 30 year old horse, has a new swollen ankle, what can i do?

its causing him some discomfort. what should i do?

  2. Well perhaps up his Glucosamine or get a intervenes Of Hyonate i would suggest Poulticing and Wrapping his ankle and giving him 2g ( 10cc ) Bute to help with the swelling then call a vet and see if injections or anything would be able to help.  

  3. awe hes old, if he escalates to anymore pain than i think it would be good to put him down. :( sorry or try to ask the vet,google,store just try your best to keep him happy

  4. Soak in warm water with epsom salts, sponge down with Absorbine. If it's really painfull I would have the Vet give him a Bute injection for pain.

  5. He must be a very healthy Horse, I hope mine lives to be thirty. Can you have your Vet give him some bute for the pain? I'm sure that will help him. You must be excellent with Horses, to have one in good health at his age. He's a very lucky Horse.
