Arthur Angot secures Men’s 1500m freestyle gold – 2013 Mediterranean Meet
Arthur Angot of France secured gold medal of the Men’s 1500m freestyle on first day of the 2013 Mediterranean Meet in Marseille, France, on Friday, March 1.
Angot remained determined for gold medal from the start as he showed no mercy to his challengers and reached the wall for the title. With his exceptional efforts, he remained in a prominent lead over his competitors and pocketed gold medal.
He enjoyed a comfortable lead over his following swimmers and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by touching the wall with the timing of 16 minutes and 18.23 seconds.
The champion was traced by Jordi Bosch Planas of Spain, who was nearly five seconds behind and made his way to the finishing end for silver medal by clocking a time of 16 minutes and 23.23 seconds.
Bosch was traced by Erwan Mahoudo of France, who was 10.19 seconds away from upsetting his foregoing finisher and stepped on the finishing end for bronze medal with the timing of 16 minutes and 33.52 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Cyril Ramsamy of France, who was two and a half body length behind and clocked a time of 16 minutes and 26.03 seconds.
Ramsay was trailed by Antoine Duval of France, who was more than half a minute behind and emerged on the wall for fifth position by posting a time of 17 minutes and 10.94 seconds.
Duval was chased by Maxime Guillerault of France, who was 13 seconds behind and hit the finishing end for sixth place by clocking a time of 17 minutes and 23.73 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Guillaume Prevost of France, who remained two and a half body lengths behind and posted a time of 17 minutes and 26.09 seconds.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Tom Avena of France, who was almost 24 seconds slower and touched the wall with an effort of 17 minutes and 50.45 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the victory ceremony of the tournament.
