Question:

Artificial plant and moss around bottom- how to harden moss?

My baby is obsessed with my fake tree plant. It has moss around the bottom and she takes it out and eats it! I'm ready to toss this plant, but I like it and want to keep it. Can I spray it with starch or something to get the moss to not come out of the pot? It is annoying and she's going to get sick!

  1. There is a product available at the craft stores called Stiffy.  It literally makes whatever you soak in it stiff.  I've used it on statice and basket filling and it should work on your moss, too.  It will literally turn it into one solid piece so she cannot tear off a hunk to put in her mouth. It is non-toxic, too.  You could try soaking it in liquid starch, but I don't thing the aerosol spray on type will make it stiff enough...
