Artist towns in eastern ontario?

What are some pockets where there are painters in the

Eastern Ontario area. Say near Brockville or Ottawa.

I think there are some a little north and east of Kingston.

I know in the Cornwall area there is the Apples & Art tour in the early fall where artists and crafters show off their wares.  Merrickville is also an artist/craft area and its north of Brockville.  From your description I think that you are looking for Merrickville it is between Ottawa and Brockville.
