Artistic Jewel ready for strong comeback after three-week drills
Ed McMahon decided to pull his chestnut filly, Artistic Jewel, back from playfields after she finished 3rd in a class 1 race at Pontefract on August 19. That step was aimed at building up on the momentum she had gained with two decent performances
so that she brought home some big titles in the future.
Having gone through some taxing drills for at least three weeks, the three-year-old veteran filly is now all ready to make a stunning comeback in today’s At The Races Conditions Stakes that will be held at Yarmouth racecourse.
Good to firm courses have always been Artistic Jewel’s cup of tea, thus, we can expect that she will be effective over the Yarmouth track of 6 furlongs and 3 yards while running alongside four mighty competitors.
The Irish sprinter possesses an epic track record that shows 4 triumphs off 10 starts. She debuted with a classic victory in July 2011. After a couple of average performances, she nicely stood first in the Veronica Stewart Memorial Conditions Stakes, held
at Salisbury on September 28.
The daughter of Excellent Art out of Danish Gem demonstrated another winning run in the very next outing named as "Dubawi" E B F Bosra Sham Fillies' Stakes (Listed Race).
That was the point when the punters came to realize the talent of the young filly. She did not stop there, but moved on to finish as the runner-up in a class 1 race at Haydock on June 2, 2012.
The Jim McDonald bred filly’s fourth victory was the title of Trade Union Unison And Thompsons Solicitors LLP Conditions Stakes that took place at Doncaster on August 4. She had to apply utmost strength in that contest and, finally, she defeated Royal Rock
by a head’s margin.
These stats are awesome indeed. Much to her advantage, Artistic Jewel is going to run again under Richard Mullen who was on her back in Doncaster.
Thus, a thumping and convincing performance is expected from the filly. Both McMahon and the punters, who have staked money on her, seem to be confident. Let us enjoy the way Artistic Jewel shines in the coming contest.
