Arts and crafts for 1st -3rd boys?

that is not very messy and takes 45 minutes to do. a lot of boys wil be doing this so i can not be hard

Creating masks can be fun.  Use construction paper or a paper bag as a base.  Then have them add construction paper cut outs to the base by gluing them on.  Have some sort of a theme.  You can find many online from African to Polynesian.    

We just did this in my 3rd grade summer school class with 32 students and it went fine.

Also you could try some simple origami.  There are many books you can buy at bookstores.  You can have kids make their own paper by folding one corner into the edge and cutting off the extra strip.

Finger puppets are also fun and easy.  Read a story and then have them recreate the main characters.  Have them draw figures out on white paper and then color them.  Glue them onto popsicle sticks.
