Arts and crafts ideas.?

Question

i love to sew,but im excellent at it. i still need some work especially with my hand sewing,but anyways to the point of this,does anyone know any sewing crafts i could do that are easy such as making purses or something.

i like pretty much everything pretaining to arts and crafts,i know how to crochet(sp?) but im not that great at it,i like making jewlery and such and i love to draw.

so any ideas that arent complicated would be greatly appreciated :}

I knew a gal who made tote bags. She took a cute fabric, lined it and made the inside pocket the same as the outside fabric. Mine was cats.

I'd like a hot pink vinyl tote with a sequined applique of something outside.

I have seen a lot of patterns for purses made out of old jeans..you can get three out of one pair if you use the legs as well as the waist..also I just saw a pattern today where you used the jeans cut just under the back pockets.(leave a seam allowence).and cut so the front pockets are still useable too..then gather a printed fabric for a little gathered skirt that you sew on to the jeans top under the pockets..you already have the wasteband and pockets..all you have to do is a seam to sew the skirt on and a hem..and you could dress it up funky with some ribbons and embroidery. Also

you could make a purse to match out of the legs and line it with some of the skirt fabric. I bet you could do a childs skirt for about 3/4 of a yard!!. I am going to look for used jeans in kids sizes and make one for my grandaughter! And you could dye the jeans before you added the skirt..it would take up more of the color if you sanded all the seams before dyeing! Good luck! Theres a million ways that you could decorate them!

how about prestamped, prequilted, cross stitch baby or lap quilts, there easy to do, very relaxing, & take a while to do, so it will last you awhile
