  1. Arts and crafts is more of a style of furniture design, while prairie style is a type of architecture, made famous by by Frank Lloyd Wright.

  2. The Arts and Crafts Movement was about decoration and the cottage style; interior decoration derived from the Art Deco and Art Noveau - sinuous, intense modern styles.  It focused on homemade pieces, as compared to those manufactured in bulk by machines.

The Prairie School Style was inspired by the earlier Arts and Crafts Movement.  Prairie Style is meant to mimic the flat, horizontal lines of the prairie and is not as decorative as Arts and Crafts.

These movements were similar in that they encouraged simplicity and the natural, but Prairie School tended to focus on incorporating the building into the landscape, while Arts and Crafts focused on the hand craftsmanship.
